Are you up to date with Well Child checks for your child?
The Well Child/Tamariki Ora programme is a free wellness check service funded by the Ministry of Health for all New Zealand children from birth to five years. Your lead maternity carer should refer you to the programme when your baby is a few weeks old.
The Well Child checks aim to give your child the best start in life by protecting against illness and detecting problems early. They support you to improve your child’s health, so they can grow and develop to their full potential.
A health professional providing the checks will visit you and your baby at home in the early weeks, with clinic or further home visits for children up to five years old.
