MOE ORA aims to make every sleep a safe sleep for at risk babies in the Hutt Valley.
The programme is being run by Kokiri Marae Health and Social Services beginning July 2018.
It is aimed at preventing sudden unexplained death in infancy (SUDI) and will see Kokiri work with providers that have contact with at risk wāhine and their whānau to:
- Increase their knowledge about safe sleeping practices
- Supply them with pepe pods and wahakura (flax woven bassinets)
- Support them to lead smoke free lives by supporting them to engage with the Hapū Māmā Stop Smoking Programme which is also run by Kokiri
Both programmes are funded by our District Health Board.
