HUTT HOSPITAL

Hutt Valley DHB has over 1000 registered nurses working in a variety of roles across the hospital and community.

Nurses work collaboratively with all other members of the health care team and in partnership with our communities to provide the best possible health care for the people using our health services.

Across the Hutt Valley DHB we offer support with postgraduate studies, new graduate nursing programme, leadership programmes, professional development opportunities, support for advanced practice, and encouragement to be part of nursing development. In addition, innovation and excellence in clinical practice through the Professional Development Recognition Programme is supported and encouraged.

As Director of Nursing for Hutt Valley DHB I am passionate about nursing leadership; empowering and supporting nurses to work to their level of expertise and training, and to adapt to the changing models of care; the development of the nursing workforce so the nurses are equipped for not only today, but the challenges facing healthcare in the future; and am committed to supporting the safest practice possible with a focus on patient safety.

Nurses at Hutt Valley DHB are ‘Always Caring’ with ‘Can Do’ attitudes, so that ‘In Partnership’ we are ‘Being Our Best’.
