HUTT HOSPITAL

The Emergency Department (ED) at Hutt Hospital is currently experiencing higher volumes of patients.

Anyone presenting to ED will be assessed by a nurse on arrival, and will be prioritised for treatment based on their assessed level of clinical need. If you are assessed as not having an urgent need, you can expect to wait longer to see a clinician.

If you are unsure about whether you require urgent care, please call your GP or Healthline (0800 611 116) for advice. In an emergency, phone 111.

Please do not present to ED seeking a COVID-19 test.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms or you live with someone who has COVID-19, please collect rapid antigen tests from one of the public collection points. Check Healthpoint for the most up-to-date locations and opening hours. Please note that we are experiencing high demand at our community centres at the moment, so please only come to a testing centre if you fit the above criteria.

Please note that everyone presenting to ED is expected to wear a medical mask – which are available at our entrances – undergo screening, scan or sign in on arrival, and maintain appropriate physical distancing.
