The community of Hutt Valley DHB has farewelled and thanked its Acting Chief Executive Dale Oliff for leading the organisation in the last year and a half. Ms Oliff is leaving to take up the position of Chief Executive of Wairarapa DHB.

Fionnagh Dougan and Andrew Blair, joint Chief Executive and Board Chair respectively of Hutt Valley and Capital & Coast DHBs, thanked Ms Oliff for taking up the position.

“Ms Oliff has, even in an acting role, forged strong bonds of partnership with the diverse communities the DHB serves. She has ably led and managed many rewarding programmes of work and supported the leadership team to thrive and flourish.

“I have been impressed with the anecdotes of Ms Oliff’s very personal touch. She is someone who really understands the issues DHBs face and because of that, managed to make solid progress in programmes of improvement and innovation, while negotiating a challenging environment.

“Just as importantly she has left with a reputation for a very caring and empathetic approach to leadership. I understand she has put considerable effort into getting to know staff members across all areas of the DHB. This has been noted and appreciated.”

Mr Blair says on behalf of the Board of Hutt Valley DHB he would like to thank Ms Oliff for her sound judgement and steady hand.

“Ms Oliff brings considerable experience in the public health sector and that experience has come through as she managed the organisation in an acting role. She has left the DHB in a solid position and we wish her all the best.”
