DHB staff launched the #Kia Ora My Name Is programme across the DHB earlier this month.
What this means for staff
·All staff will receive a new organisational name badge which will have their preferred first name printed on it.
·New wall graphics will be installed around the hospital.
·In near future there will be area floor graphics installed i.e. #Kia ora Welcome to the emergency department.
Why are we doing this?
·During the month of May 2017 Hutt Valley District Health Board ran alongside Tim Keogh a feedback session called “Shaping Our Values”, with patients, staff and management.
·The top priority fed back from patients and our community was that they wanted to feel welcomed when they enter the hospital/DHB environment.
·Patients reported it was important to them to receive a “lovely” first contact.
·This also connects strongly with our organisational value “In partnership” which encourages all staff to be welcoming, friendly smile, introduce themselves and acknowledge people.
