This week is Patient Safety Week, with a focus on medication safety.We’re encouraging our staff to have conversations with patients and their families and whānau about their medicines. We want consumers to feel empowered to ask questions to help them better understand their medicines.
Patients and families might ask:
• What is my medicine called?
• What is it for?
• When and how do I take it?
Doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals are best positioned to give advice, so don't be afraid to ask!
