Over 120 maternity sector stakeholders attended Hutt Maternity’s second Networking Expo in Hutt Hospital’s Learning Centre last week, with 33 groups holding displays.

Hutt Maternity’s Maternity Quality and Safety Programme (MQSP)Coordinator, Nicola Giblett, who opened the
event, says she was delighted with its success.

“It’s an excellent opportunity for health professionals to link up with and gain better understanding of our community’s services and groups which benefit pregnant women, mums, babies and whanau.

We are pleased that not only do our services network with community based groups, but this provides a forum for those groups to link and support each other.”

The Maternity Expo is now an annual even following its launch last year with a focus of networking between primary and secondary services based both within DHB, and the community.

Ms Giblett says groups, organisations, NGOs and DHB services relating to maternity are invited to display.“This is an opportunity to tell us what they are about, and how to access them.Maternity stakeholders across our DHB region such as LMCs, GPs, Practice Nurses, Well Child providers, and core DHB Staff are invited to attend.”

Consumer and sector engagement is one of the key objectives of the Maternity Quality and Safety Programme (MQSP) at HVDHB
