HUTT HOSPITAL

Welcome to the PDRP Showcase.

The PDRP Showcase recognises, values and celebrates the expertise, innovation and high levels of practice of nurses throughout the DHB, often reflected in their portfolios.

The portfolios shown here have been nominated by the members of the peer review team who assess all the proficient and expert portfolios.

Our site is being updated and more portfolios are to be added soon.

Stephanie Beddis - Emergency Department

Stephanie has been working as an Emergency Department nurse for many years and is now one of the Associate Clinical Nurse Managers at Hutt Valley DHB's Emergency Department.

Steph has a passion for children's health and although she has achieved many things over the past few years, few are as well known as the Tree Hutt.

In 2010 Steph won the 'Hardest working nurse' competition supported by Gareth Morgan. So began her journey to develop the Tree Hutt and improve the distraction services provided by the emergency department for children needing their services. Further support has been provided by the Silverstream Lions, Wellington Model Railway, local artists Ann Wyatt and Rachel Driscoll as well as many local businesses and organisations; alongside Steph's passion, organisation and planning has allowed her to realise her dream.

The Tree Hutt led to the development of other similar services throughout the hospital. Steph's story and her commitment are an amazing showcase for what nurses can achieve.

For more information please see the Tree Hutt website (yes it has it's own) on www.thetreehutt.org.nz The peer review team would like to congratulate Steph on her achievements and her expert portfolio.
