Hutt Valley District Health Board (DHB) is a publicly funded hospital and health provider in the Hutt Valley, on the northern shores of Wellington Harbour and a short drive from the centre of New Zealand’s Capital City, Wellington.
Hutt Valley DHB provides secondary and tertiary, medical and surgical hospital services along-side community based health care. Our main facility is Hutt Hospital in Lower Hutt, which has 260 beds.
We fund local health providers and work collaboratively with our community to create and support multiple health education initiatives and projects within our region.
We are a multifaceted health provider, steered by our 11-member board, of which seven members are publicly elected and four are appointed by the Minister of Health.
Our executive management team, leads a collective of departments providing a wide range of specialities such as Human Resources, Information Services (IT), Funding & Planning, a Finance Department, through to departments providing essential but none health related support services like a Building Services Department, Cleaners, Kitchen and Cafeteria Staff, Laundry services, Revenue offices, a Photocopy Department, Plumbers, Electricians , Telephonists, and Librarians.
All of these staff provide support services to our Medical & Surgical teams comprising consultant surgeons and physicians, junior doctors, nursing and allied health staff, laboratory, pharmacy amd administration staff. |
